Do prop firms allow trade copiers?
Mostly yes — but the yes is narrow, and the details are where evaluations die. We verified the published rules of ten futures prop firms against their own help centers and terms on 2026-08-12. One pattern holds almost everywhere:
- Copying between accounts you own, in the same direction, is allowed at 8 of the 10 firms. Several document copier workflows in their own help centers; two (Topstep, WealthCharts-based stacks) ship a copier of their own.
- Copying anyone else's trades is banned at all 10. Signal services, "pass my eval for me" services, mirroring a friend's fills, trading another person's account — every firm treats this as a breach, usually with closure of every account involved.
MirrorFill is built for the first case: it mirrors fills between accounts under your own logins. It does nothing to make the second case acceptable. A copier does not change whose trades they are.
What varies by firm
The own-accounts rule is near-universal. Everything around it is not:
| Rule area | The range across the 10 firms |
|---|---|
| Account caps | Leeloo: max 3 accounts in one fixed copy group. Apex: up to 20 funded accounts, counted household-wide. Earn2Trade: zero. |
| Approved-copier lists | TakeProfitTrader and Elite Trader Funding permit only copier products they have named in writing. |
| Hedging | Opposite-direction positions across your own accounts are banned nearly everywhere — often including mini/micro pairs and correlated instruments. |
| News | From no restriction at all (Tradeify, Elite Trader Funding) to hard flat-windows around FOMC, NFP and CPI (MyFundedFutures, TakeProfitTrader funded tiers). |
| Automation and VPS | From "copiers and bots fine" (Lucid, Bulenox) to "all trading from your personal device, no VPS" (Topstep). |

| Firm | Verdict (verified 2026-08-12) |
|---|---|
| Apex Trader Funding | Yes — own accounts, same direction only; copier results are your responsibility |
| Topstep | Own copier built into TopstepX; third-party copiers only via its paid API. MirrorFill does not support TopstepX/ProjectX |
| MyFundedFutures | Yes — external copiers explicitly allowed on all account types |
| TakeProfitTrader | Yes — but only copiers on its published approved list |
| Bulenox | Yes — own accounts under one Rithmic ID; $100/month third-party connection fee |
| Leeloo Trading | Yes on standard funded accounts — max 3 accounts in a fixed group |
| Tradeify | Yes — own accounts, same direction; third-party copiers allowed but unsupported |
| Earn2Trade | No — copiers banned on every tier, even between your own accounts |
| Elite Trader Funding | Only approved copiers (a written whitelist of four) or platform-native copying |
| Lucid Trading | Yes — in-platform and third-party copiers both allowed |
Where MirrorFill fits
MirrorFill copies at the platform level: if your firm's accounts run on Rithmic, Tradovate, or Volumetrica, they connect like any other account on that platform. Topstep runs on TopstepX/ProjectX, which MirrorFill does not support — so MirrorFill does not work with Topstep today.
And to say it plainly: MirrorFill never guarantees any firm's approval. Two of the ten firms (TakeProfitTrader, Elite Trader Funding) permit only copiers they have individually approved, and MirrorFill is not on those published lists today — ask the firm in writing before copying there. You are responsible for your firm's rules. We give you the verified facts and the controls; the rulebook stays yours.
Quick answers
Is copying between my own accounts "cheating"?
Not at most firms. Eight of the ten allow it, and some productize it — Topstep's TopstepX copier, Tradovate's Group Trade, WealthCharts' built-in copier. What firms ban is copying other people.
Which firms spell out copier rules most clearly?
Apex, MyFundedFutures, TakeProfitTrader, Tradeify, Leeloo, Elite Trader Funding and Lucid all have dedicated copier or copy-trading articles in their own help centers. The matrix links each one.
Does MirrorFill check my firm's rules for me?
No. It gives you controls — daily loss limits, max-contract clamps, blocked instruments — but it does not know your firm's rulebook. See who is responsible for a breach.
