Connect a TradeSea account

TradeSea is a trading platform some prop firms give their traders, and it runs on Rithmic. So MirrorFill works with TradeSea through your prop firm's Rithmic login, no plugin needed: you connect that login, and a trade you place in TradeSea is copied like any other trade on it. You need two things: the Rithmic username and password from your firm's dashboard, and the name of your prop firm. You do not need to know your Rithmic system: Test finds it for you.

Steps

  1. Open Accounts, click + Add connection and pick the TradeSea tile. Picking it takes you straight to the Details step.
  2. Name the connection, up to 32 characters.
  3. Choose your Prop firm. The list holds the prop firms that offer TradeSea. If yours is missing, pick Other / not listed. The firm only tells MirrorFill which Rithmic systems to try first.
  4. Enter the Rithmic Username and Password from your firm's dashboard. Both are case-sensitive.
  5. Press Continue, then Test. The Connect step lists what will be saved (never the password); until Test runs, its Rithmic system reads "Found when you press Test". Test finds the system (see below) and answers "Found your system:" with the system's name, then the accounts it found.
  6. Click Save connection. It saves an ordinary Rithmic connection on the system Test found, and like any new connection it signs in once to look up its accounts, unless you switch off Find accounts after saving. Press Save connection before Test and it runs the same search first.

How Test finds your Rithmic system

Some prop firms sign their TradeSea traders in on a Rithmic system named after the firm; others use one of TradeSea's shared systems, whose names start with "tradesea". Your login works on exactly one of them. So instead of asking, Test signs in on the likely systems one at a time: your firm's own system first, then TradeSea's shared ones, five tries at most. While it works it reads "Finding your Rithmic system... (1 of N: name)", and it stops at the first system that accepts the login.

  • A wrong password stops the search at once, with the broker's reason after "Could not connect:". A wrong password is wrong on every system, so trying more would only spend sign-ins.
  • If no system fits, it says: "None of the usual systems accepted this login. If the username and password are right, pick your Rithmic system by hand, or ask your firm for its Rithmic system name."
  • If you test again too soon, it asks you to give it a minute. Every try is a real sign-in, and Test allows ten a minute per account.

Pick your Rithmic system by hand

If you know your system's name, or the search came up empty, press Pick your Rithmic system by hand on the Details step. The Prop firm list gives way to the normal System dropdown, the same one the Rithmic tile uses, starting on "Choose your system". Your firm's welcome e-mail or support can tell you the name. Find it from your prop firm instead switches back. More in Rithmic systems and gateways explained.

TradeSea and the copier on one login

Most Rithmic apps compete for a login's session: signing in to R|Trader with the login the copier is using forces the copier out. TradeSea behaved differently in our own test on 2026-10-01: on a prop firm evaluation login, the TradeSea web app stayed signed in while the copier ran on the same login, and a trade placed in TradeSea was copied. That was one firm's login over a short session, so if the copier ever stops with a reason saying the same login connected somewhere else, see Rithmic session conflicts.

If Test still fails

This is a Rithmic login, so the usual Rithmic checks apply:

  • Check the login in R|Trader Pro. Ask your firm for its Rithmic system name, then sign in to R|Trader Pro on that system with the same username and password. If that works but MirrorFill still fails with that system picked by hand, your firm may not have permitted MirrorFill yet: ask your firm's support to permit MirrorFill for your user id. If it fails in R|Trader Pro too, the credentials are the problem.
  • Unsigned market-data agreements. A fresh Rithmic login cannot connect until its market-data agreements are signed. Sign in to R|Trader once with the same credentials, sign them there, then Test again.
  • Whitespace pasted with the username. Copying from a dashboard often drags a trailing space along. Retype the last character if in doubt.

More causes, and what each one means, in connect a Rithmic account.

Editing the connection later

The saved connection is an ordinary Rithmic connection: the Accounts page shows it under Rithmic, with the system Test found in its details. Edit opens it straight on the Details step, titled "Edit connection:" and its name, as a Rithmic connection with its System field. There is no prop firm to pick again.

The prop firm list is there only to find your Rithmic system. It says nothing about whether copying is allowed at a firm, and the form says so too: "whether copiers are allowed is up to your firm's own rules." Check your own firm's current rules on copiers before you copy. See do prop firms allow trade copiers?

Quick answers

Is there a TradeSea plugin or add-on?

No, and none is needed. MirrorFill connects to the Rithmic login behind TradeSea, so there is nothing to install in TradeSea.

My prop firm is not in the list. Can I still connect?

Yes. Pick Other / not listed and Test tries TradeSea's shared systems, or press Pick your Rithmic system by hand and choose your system from the list. Whether your firm allows copiers is a question for its own rules.

Does the TradeSea tile mean my firm allows copiers?

No. The tile and the firm list only help MirrorFill find your Rithmic system. Your firm's own rules decide whether copying is allowed. Check them before you copy.

Can I keep TradeSea open while the copier runs?

In our own test, yes: TradeSea stayed signed in beside the running copier on the same login, and a trade placed in TradeSea was copied. If the copier ever stops with a reason saying the login connected somewhere else, see Rithmic session conflicts.

Why does the Accounts page say Rithmic, not TradeSea?

Because the connection is a Rithmic connection: TradeSea runs on Rithmic, and MirrorFill signs in to Rithmic directly. Editing it later opens the Rithmic form.
