How exits copy: your stop is the follower's stop

MirrorFill attaches no synthetic stop-loss or take-profit brackets of its own. There is no bracket field to configure, on purpose. Your exit lives on the leader account — and followers mirror it the same way they mirror every other fill.

The mechanism

A stop or target you place on the leader is just an order at your broker. When it fills, the leader's net position changes. MirrorFill sees that fill and re-targets every follower to match the new net, delta-exact. If your stop takes the leader from long 3 to flat, every follower goes to flat. If a partial target takes the leader from long 3 to long 1, every follower steps down by the same proportion of its own sizing.

Followers exit when you exit — same event, their own orders.

What this means in practice

  • Follower exit prices differ slightly from the leader's. Each follower sends its own marketable-limit order when the leader's exit fills, and fills at its own price. Over many trades the differences run both ways, but they are real. No copier can give two accounts the identical print.
  • MirrorFill never touches your leader orders. It reads the leader's fills; it does not place, move, or cancel anything on the leader account. So a follower position can never be left unprotected because the copier removed a stop — there is nothing for it to remove.
  • A manual flat is an exit too. Close the leader by hand and the followers flatten with it. Market-order out of the leader, and the same delta reaches every follower.
  • Reversals work the same way. Stop-and-reverse on the leader takes each follower through flat and out the other side, sized by its own rule.

Where the safety nets are

Exits are only as reliable as fills. If a follower's exit order rests unfilled in a fast market, order expiry and reconciliation are the mechanisms that deal with it. And if you want everything closed everywhere right now, that is the Flatten all kill switch — the one case where MirrorFill does close the leader as well.

Quick answers

Do followers get their own bracket orders?

No. MirrorFill places no synthetic brackets. Followers mirror the leader's net position; when your stop or target fills on the leader, the followers exit with it.

Will a follower's stop-out price match the leader's?

Rarely to the tick. Each follower fills its own order at its own price. Expect small differences in both directions.

What if I close the leader manually instead of using a stop?

Same result. Any fill that changes the leader's net position is mirrored — a manual close flattens the followers too.
