Reverse copy: the follower takes the other side

Tick Rev on a follower's row in Copy Rules and that follower takes the opposite side of the leader. When the leader buys, this follower sells the same size. When the leader goes flat, the reversed follower goes flat too — reversing zero is still zero.

How Rev combines with sizing

Reverse is applied after sizing and before the Max clamp:

  1. Size the target — leader net × multiplier (rounded half away from zero), or the exact quantity in the leader's direction.
  2. Flip the sign.
  3. Clamp to ±Max.

So a leader long 3 with a 0.5× reversed follower targets short 2 (3 × 0.5 = 1.5, rounds to 2, then flipped). With exact quantity 2, the reversed follower is short 2 whenever the leader is long, long 2 whenever the leader is short.

Exits mirror the same way. The leader's stop fills, the leader's net drops, and the reversed follower reduces by the same delta on its own side. Nothing special to configure.

What it's for

  • Fading a strategy. If you want the inverse of a system's signals on a separate account, Rev gives you exactly that, delta-exact.
  • Hedging a personal account against a funded or evaluation account — where your firm's rules allow it. Some firms treat opposite positions across accounts as a violation.

Check your firm's hedging rules before you turn Rev on between a personal account and a funded account. Some prop firms prohibit holding opposite sides of the same market across related accounts, and the trader is responsible for staying inside the rules. See hedging between accounts.

Quick answers

Does Rev change the size?

No. Sizing is computed first, exactly as normal; Rev only flips the direction. The Max clamp still applies afterwards.

Does Rev work with exact quantity?

Yes. The follower holds exactly N contracts opposite to the leader's direction, and stays flat when the leader is flat.

What happens when the leader exits?

The reversed follower exits with it. Every change in the leader's net position is mirrored, flipped, on the follower.
