How trades reach your journal

You never file a trade by hand. Trades enter the MirrorFill journal two ways: mirrored from the copier automatically, or imported from a CSV. This article covers the automatic path and where the manual one fits.

Mirroring happens on every read

The journal is built from the copier's own event log. Every fill the engine sees — on the leader and on every follower — is recorded, and the journal materializes those fills into trades whenever you open a journal page. There is no button you have to press and no sync you have to schedule. Open Journal → Dashboard after a session and the trades are there.

Because the journal is derived from fills, entries and exits pair up by position math, not by guesswork: partial fills, scale-ins, and reversals become trades the same way the engine itself accounts for them.

The Mirror now button

If you want a pass right now instead of on the next page load, open Journal → Manage Data. The Auto-Mirror card lists your broker connections with an Enabled or Disabled status and a Mirror now button. Press it and you get a toast like:

Mirror complete. 14 new fills across 2 groups.

Zero new fills is a normal answer — it means the journal was already current.

Mirrored vs imported

Every trade records where it came from. Mirrored trades were built from copier fills; imported trades came from a CSV you uploaded under Manage Data → Import Data. The distinction matters when you delete: mirrored trades rebuild from the event log on the next load, while a deleted import batch is gone for good. Details in managing and deleting journal data.

The journal only sees fills the copier saw. Trades placed on an account before you connected it, or while MirrorFill was not running, won't appear — import those from a CSV instead.

Quick answers

Do I have to press anything for trades to show up?

No. Fills mirror into the journal automatically on every read. Mirror now just forces an immediate pass.

A trade is missing — what do I check first?

Confirm the connection is enabled on the Accounts page, then press Mirror now on Manage Data. If the trade happened while MirrorFill was offline, import it from a CSV.

Can I mix mirrored and imported trades?

Yes. The journal keeps both, each trade tagged with its source, and all metrics count them together.
