The pre-flight checklist
Run this once before your first live copy, and again after any structural change — a new follower, new sizing, a new connection. It takes ten minutes. A blown evaluation takes longer.
The checklist
- Confirm your firm's rules. If any account is funded or in evaluation, the firm's copier policy comes first — before anything in this app. Start with do prop firms allow trade copiers. Their rules are binding; ours aren't.
- Test every connection. On Accounts, press Test on each login and read the result. The discovered account list should match what you expect — right firm, right account IDs, nothing missing. A connection that hasn't been tested is a guess.
- Sanity-check sizing on one follower. Take your typical leader size and multiply it by the follower's Multiplier. Is that the number you meant? Now check Cross Order (is it on the micro sibling on purpose?) and the Max clamp (would it actually stop a fat-finger?). One follower checked carefully beats five skimmed.
- Set a daily loss limit. On Risk Management, give the account a daily loss limit with Flatten & lock. It's the backstop for everything the first three steps missed. See daily loss limits and profit targets.
- Run one small live test. Press Start copying. First, place a small resting limit order on the leader, well away from the market. Nothing should appear on the followers — MirrorFill copies fills, not working orders — so this proves the leader connection accepts orders without opening a position. Cancel it. Then take one real fill on your smallest contract (one MES beats one ES) and watch the follower mirror it on the Trade Desk. Done looking? Flatten all closes everything, leader included.
- Keep Flatten all in reach — and consider confirmations. The strip is on Overview, Trade Desk, Accounts, Copy Rules, and Risk Management, so the kill switch is one click from anywhere. If you want a second look before Start, Stop, or Flatten all, switch on the confirmations on the Risk Management page. They're off by default and stored per browser.
Quick answers
What's the smallest sensible live test?
One contract of a micro — MES, MNQ, MCL — at a 1× multiplier. It proves the whole path: fill, mirror, position, flatten.
Why isn't there a simulation mode?
A simulator can't prove your logins, permissions, and sizing against the real broker — one small real fill can. That's the honest test, so it's the one we recommend.
Do I repeat this every day?
No. Repeat steps 2–3 after structural changes, and step 5 whenever you've changed something you'd rather not discover mid-trade.
